Design Manager
Job Description
Taking text and images supplied, and following a client brief (either verbal or written), create artwork that:
- Meets all corporate guidelines in terms of fonts, styles sheets etc.
- Meets all client expectations and requests
- Meets all end-user demands
Adapting existing styles and layouts for new sizes, applications and delivery – such as web, interactive PDF etc.
Applicant will have a good knowledge of print techniques and finishing methods and will be able to make paper dummies and cutter guides for prospective jobs. Copy writing or proof reading skills would be an advantage.
A degree in design should not be required but at least 5 years design experience in agency / print background is essential.
Software knowledge
Applicant will be expert level in:
Quark 7 / InDesign CS 2 / 3
Photoshop CS 2 / 3
Plus have a good knowledge of:
Illustrator CS 2 / 3
Flash CS3
Acrobat – creating and editing PDFs
Green Creative
Applicant should have a passion for the environment and want to follow the ethos of Green Creative – a graphic design firm that applies thought to it’s final products to minimize environmental impact.
Applicant should feel able to expand the customer base by promoting Green Creative, making sales calls and lead generation. A head for business and sales will be important in making this position work.
This is a client-facing role so demands confidence, clarity of communication and the ability to think out loud in a meeting situation. Applicant should be able to generate creative solutions based on a variety of briefs.
Current customer base will need strong reassurance that their design service will not falter and they will not need to start from day one again.
