An overview of Sustainability in the printing sector

At Seacourt it is our experience that our customers and in turn theirs are confused by the many terms deployed related to environmental claims.

To help shine a light into this we have published “Sustainability in the Printing Sector” which is available to all. In it we examine what may lie behind these common claims:

  • Carbon balanced / offset paper

  • Green printer / printing

  • Eco printing

  • Sustainable or vegetable inks

  • Sustainable and recycled paper

  • Printing sustainably or in an environmentally friendly way

All sound intrinsically good but as with all claims they need supporting evidence and an explanation of context to allow readers to understand what they mean in practice.

Our View...

...is a simple one.

Minimise your carbon impact - in our case, our 27 year journey has reduced our Scope 1 & 2 impact to 0.07% of our total carbon impact.

All our Scope 3 emissions are offset using Gold Standard VER offsets which stop carbon from being emitted in the first place.
